Interior Flow Project | Bathroom for a Home Renovation in Eltham

Lighting within a home can bring energy, warmth and maybe a little spark of creativity.

Light is a beautiful source of vital energy that is very much complimented with good quality airflow. Whether the lighting is natural or artificial, bringing it into your home will nourish your environment with positive energy. When renovating don’t dismiss natural light and skylights where windows are not possible cannot be underestimated and or overlooked. You will not regret putting in a new glass door or windows within your home. Areas to consider include skylights in bathrooms where there is little natural light, glass doors in laundries to dual as access to the washing line and to have natural light, bedrooms are a must to have our body rhythm in sync with the sun setting and rising, and last but not least who does not love a rectangular window in the kitchen above the bench and below the overhead cupboards or a long rectangular window at the end of a galley type style kitchen.

You will not regret putting in new windows within your renovation to create a naturally well-lit home that is bright and uplifting and feels good vs gloomy and dark interior lit by artificial light.

Artificial Light

Considerations for artificial light must have that is rarely thought of are LED lights to either the kicker or underside of overhead cabinets of joinery in bathrooms which are separately switched so that you can have this on at night time for those late night visits to the bathroom without having glaringly bright lights shining in your eyes and waking you up.

Consider adding dimmers to your lighting within the lounge room for a softer glow of light within the evening. Add floor lamps to the lounge room if you love reading or just a softer spot light within the room.

Consider wall lights mounted on either side of the bed within your bedrooms that are separately switched or add a hidden led strip of light to your bedside tables underside if they are custom wall mounted pieces that are seperatly switched. This is especially helpful if you and your partner got o bed at separate times.

Every little detail can be considered and customised at very low costs for a hotel luxe feel within your renovation with a little forethought and consideration to your lifestyle by asking yourself what details matter and where.

The quality of light brings with it effects that adjust your health and wellbeing.

For darker rooms, seek ways to bring in natural light, as this can help open up the space and let all of that positive energy run right through. Where natural light isn’t possible, remove cramped furniture and transfer an appropriate lighting source that will illuminate and transform your room.

The illusion of space occurs when light reflects off surfaces and walls. Through perfect placement of windows and glass, can bring-in naturally beautiful patterns of light that might not have ever been considered. If you would like to discover the opportunities within your home, make a time so we can talk about the creating a space you fall in love with.
